Ramit makes very interesting points about money, I’ve read one of his books and listened to him on a podcast a long time ago. It’s worth reevaluating what you think about money. I think we are taught how to think about money when we are kids and I think it’s valuable to re-examine it as adults when we have a clearer sense of its worth, literally and figuratively.

I totally agree. I love hearing your input Stephanie! Hope you're good :)

I think it's something I definitely need to investigate further - maybe at a time when I'm ready to soak it all in. Although, no time like the present, I guess!

Eh, read if when you’re ready. Otherwise it won’t soak in!

Attached is great for understanding attachment theory! I have Jay Shettys book, and I’m a big fan of his work but struggling to keep up with it. I’ll have to pick it up again! Ramits podcast is soo good, my sister and I find ourselves talking about the episodes like it’s television.

I’m reading Platonic by Dr Marisa Franco right now which I’m really enjoying!

Hey Jess, it's nice to have you back 🥰

Thanks for sharing these books! I've been compiling a book list myself so I'll be sure to look at these. I need more non-fiction in my life.

P.S Carrie Soto Is Back is great ☺️

Thanks Lyndsay! I'll be here whenever I can and when it feels right.

My TBR is continuously growing and I'm not mad about it, lots to pick from whatever particular mood I'm in.

Great to hear, I'm excited for some more TJR :)

A great post, Jess - thank you so much for the fabulous recommendations! Here are mine:

What’s been one of your most life-changing non-fiction reads? - 'Wild', by Cheryl Strayed.

What are you currently reading or hoping to read soon? - 'Walking Home', by Clare Balding.

Amazing memoirs, both of them - and closely-related to my own love of adventuring, so they hit/are hitting that sweet spot in my chest reserved for writing that really speaks to me.

Thank you and thank you so much for sharing.

I'm completely on board with Cheryl Strayed. I think I might try to get to a few more memoirs. I've been interested in 'Educated' for a while and recently 'I'm glad my mom died' - due to all the hype.

I love, love, love a memoir - I'd say it's my favourite genre. And 'Educated' is on my 'must have a closer look at this' list, that's for sure. 😊

I tend to read more fiction but a couple of non fiction I’ve really enjoyed over the years are “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandburg and “around the world in 80 trains” by Monisha Rajesh 😊

Fiction recommendations always welcome too! :)

I haven't heard of that second one!

Currently reading a novel called Euphoria based on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes that I expected to like more than I do but I still like it enough to keep reading it.

Looking forward to reading Plath's letters / diaries. Also in non-fiction I have Creating Minds which is about creativity among geniuses, Life B which is a memoir of overcoming double depression, and How to Taste by Mandy Naglich.

My own new non-fiction book, The Artist's Mind, goes on blog tour here on Substack starting on Tuesday and I'm so excited for that!
